SAF Trip to San Mateo Ozolco Led by Lisa Nutter Update
Just a few months ago, the Siembra Azul Foundation and a delegation of representatives from Philadelphia traveled to San Mateo Ozolco, Puebla Mexico with a social purpose. The team included, First Lady of Philadelphia and Academies Inc Director Mrs. Lisa Nutter, one of the founding members of Puentes de Salud Dr. Steven Larson MD, El Viaje Community Arts Project Co-Founder Mr. Nora Litz, and Entrepreneur David Suro-Piñera.
The delegation was only in Mexico for three days, two, which were spent traveling. One of the main goals for the group was to visit the town of San Mateo Ozolco where most Mexican community members in Philadelphia are native to. The people were wonderful, charming, giving, and surprisingly social, even with a slight language barrier. Everyone had great energy; were enthusiastic and excited to meet the Philadelphia team, especially First Lady Mrs. Lisa Nutter. The children, at all ages, from the elementary school, the middle school and the high school were delighted to meet the group, and a bit shy at first, they opened up quickly and made it hard for the team to leave such an amazing community.
The SAF team wanted to share a small video with images, and the story of the San Mateo Ozolco community in Mexico, and in Philadelphia. Enjoy.
